Enter the Digistruct is an action/platformer taking place in a virtual world where hackers infiltrate systems to steal valuable programs or intelligence.

The Story

You play as Guy, a new member of an elusive group known as Dagger. Their task is to infiltrate the system of the Iris Corporation whom the group believes houses a powerful program that they deem too dangerous to be in their possession. Guy will come across sentient bugs, glitches and the systems own security defenders on the way to their goal.

How to Play

WASD = Movement

Space = Jump

Enter = Shoot

Reach the door at the end of the level to win.

Don't let your health reach 0!

Enemies will try to stop you from reaching the end, hitting them enough times with your pistol will destroy them.

There are 5 bonus collectibles to find in the level, find them all!

Content

There is currently one level in the game with basic mechanics. I hope to update this once in the future, adding a few extra mechanics such as powerups, health pickups and an extra level.

What I liked:

  • Good tile-mapping (like the level design)
  • simple art style fits the theme of what the game is very well.
  • nice 2d animations on the firearms make it feel more clean.

Improvements I could recomend:

  • making enemies have different health, different tiers maybe they are weak at first but tank more health towards the end.
  • Maybe show a scoring system for example how many enemies the player killed ect.

love the simplistic style and use of the 12 principles. the layout of the level is unclear but still fun to traverse. i think there could be some indication for where the last tech parts are, maybe the player can get a hint after kill a certain no. of enemies??

overall i love the design and the gameplay is really fun and addicting

high points:

  • really good use of tile maps, parallax background, particle systems, and post-processing to fit the desired aesthetic
  • simple pixelated art style fits the theme of the game well
  • subtle weapon animations complement the movements of the bullets

suggested improvements:

  • making animations for the player + enemies more noticeable, perhaps adding a small horizontal movement animation for each
